We are currently expanding our team and have open positions for: Research Scientist (M/F) We are looking for both beginning as well as experienced organic chemists with academic PhD training. The candidates should be able to carry out independently complex organic syntheses. Experience in medicinal chemistry and/or the synthesis of libraries is an extra recommendation. An informal culture wherein room is given for personal initiatives and responsibility is characteristic for Syncom. Owing to the diversity of projects from clients we can offer a work environment with a very wide variety of organic chemical projects. It concerns fulltime jobs (40 hrs/day).

Dutch Design and Synthesis Guest Lectures: Prof. Floris Rutjes

  Prof. Floris Rutjes visited Syncom as part of our Dutch Design & Synthesis guest lectures. His talk, entitled “New Catalytic Approaches for the Synthesis of Enantiopure Heterocycles”, disclosed his latest research in the field of flow chemistry and organocatalysis applied to the synthesis of enantiopure heterocycles. Prof. Rutjes obtained his MSc in chemistry at the University of Amsterdam, where he also received a PhD under supervision of Prof. Speckamp in 1993. He then conducted post-doctoral research in the group of Prof. K.C. Nicolaou (The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, USA), resulting in a total synthesis of the marine toxin
