Make common cause: Dutch Consul General is exploring cooperation opportunities at the Fraunhofer IGB

A top-class delegation from industry and research accompanied the Dutch Consul General Peter Vermeij on Monday during his second visit to the Straubing branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB). In the future, the University of Groningen, the chemical company Syncom BV and the Fraunhofer Institute Branch at Schulgasse want to collaborate even more closely in the research fields of biocatalysis, electrochemistry and chemocatalysis to obtain new materials and store electrical energy. Growth thanks to cooperative

Companies working together in the Life Cooperative. It works! Ton Vries, director of Syncom and chairman of Life Cooperative, still remembers how it started. There was discussion about Avebe that would transfer her research to a large lab on the Campus Groningen. “Avebe is a cooperative,” says Vries, “and what you see is that potatoes all have the same quality.
