Syncom can synthesize specific pigments and UV-absorbers that are not commercially available. Syncom has also developed technologies for covalent attachment of pigments and UV-absorbers to supports such as polymers. Pigments and UV-absorbers can either be directly attached to functional groups that are already available in the support or be equipped with specific functional groups to make them useful for co-polymerization. This allows for example, preparation of colored polymers and polymers that are protected against UV-radiation. The principal advantages of covalent attachment of UV-absorbers and pigments to polymers are the homogeneous distribution and the strongly reduced leaching of the materials, which enhances safety for humans and environment.
Syncom offers custom synthesis of pigments and UV-absorbers and design and synthetic support for covalent attachment to polymers.
